PEAR::DB::ado

DB_ado is a driver extending PEAR::DB using PHP's com extension.

As you may already assume, this contribution depends on the MS ADODB library. As peculiarity all features are brought along by MS ADODB
- e.g. read, edit and store data records from Excel Sheets/XML/textfiles -
DB_ado can provide it, too. This is possible due to the magic Data Provider.

The only disadvantage: DB_ado can only run on a system recognizing COM interfaces on an operating system and where Microsoft®s ADODB library is installed - in a word: only on a Windows system.
